Volume One Chapter Four The Conspiracy

 Back To Space

They all arrived at the portal that would lead to wherever Salynara was leading them to next. Where she did not know nor did she care where that was. She did not know what her plan was nor why she had been doing all of this. Then again she was not in the right state of mind to do such a thing. Her mind was elsewhere.

The sky was black and the horizon had a line of smoke where the Seelie Court used to be. All that remained was the last of the fire burning and the already burnt off ash. Yet the smell of smoke and cooked meat still clung to the air.

Lasta was still in a state of disbelief as her mind just could not process it. All of the good fairies were dead. None was left alive, Salynara made sure of that. She had gone around the entire kingdoms in the Seelie Court to make sure that none were alive. Lasta was forced to watch as she ensued to kill all of them. She had gone from house to house and she would use her magic to hold the girl in place as she looked at the unconscious men, women and children of all ages and stabbed each and every one of them. She would do this again and again and again until she could do nothing but weep and weep. Yet even then she would dry her tears and wait until she stopped crying before doing it again and again and again until each and every one of them were surely dead.

The only levaty the girl had was that the Tooth Fairy was not one of them. No, at least she was away from Fairyland before all of this happened. At least, she was too busy with her hard work to come here while all of this happened. At least she had this one thing, was her only a small victory as long as she did not get it in her head to try to rescue her.

In fact she felt quite numb. She had become so numb that most of what was happening around her barely registered. In fact she only had emotion enough to fear. The only thing that made it worse was the fact that she was now bound to the person that was responsible, both for ensuring that she could not go home and cry to her mother and for the destruction of the whole place and Otb and there was not a thing that she could do about it. She longed for her mother’s arms and to cry in them but that was impossible. She missed her parents and brother and wanted to see them and be with them, now more than ever.

They walked into the portal. Soon they were back in the space prison. She looked around her, her eyes were slow and her mind took some time to register but she soon knew that they were in the same space prison that Otb stayed in. She knew that whatever was about to happen she would not like this one bit. Her eyes slid to Salynara, wondering what she was going to do next.

“So what are we doing here?” Otb asked.

“Is there not anyone here you want revenge on?”

“Other than the girl?”

“Yes.”

“Yeah!” He sighed. “But why do you want me to be here?”

“You will see. However, you must start fighting quickly. It will not take long for the guards to arrive and try to take us away.”

He looked at her angrily and then ran to get a gun. He soon found one in a box next to the blue metal door. He then ran at the two and pulled them at either end of the door, Salynara on the left and Otb and Lasta on the right. The moment the door opened, Otb fired. The laser hit two guards and they fell. He then took a glance in the corridor. He saw three more coming and fired at one after the other. He then waited for a moment before he ran down the corridor, picking their hind up as he did. They then followed him.

“Salynara was it?”

“Yes?”

“Can you use your magic to shield us?”

“Sure.” She said as she took a glance at Lasta. “Anything for her too?”

She then looked at her both shocked and afraid. She shook her head not wanting any part of this. However, she knew perfectly well that she would not have any choice in the matter. After all, it hardly mattered what she did to avoid it even if she begged or offered anything else she would be forced to play her part inevitably. The only thing that could help her is if Otb got her out of this.

“She could tell us how many guards to expect behind each door. Here, this will help!” He said, as he gave her a thin rectangular shaped object with a map on it with yellow and red dots.

“We’re here and the yellow dots are the guards and the red ones are the prisoners, and as the tracker does not know we’re here, we don’t show up.”

She closed her eyes in relief as she looked down. She saw the map and saw five yellow dots.

“Thank you. And there are five.” She told him both relieved that she would not have to kill and knowing that she did not have a choice.

He smiled as he patted her on the head. Then he opened the doors and the five were ahead. He then fired a laser at the two on the side then one in the middle. He then ran on. She looked down and saw the dots.

“Six!” She called.

He nodded and threw the two aside behind the door frame as he opened the doors. He fired at the three directly in sight and then he ran in. They fired at him but the lasers vanished before they could even hit him! He smirked and shrugged and fired at the last three. Lasta looked at the dead bodys, feeling nauseous. She tried to look away and not focus on them or her part to play in their deaths.

What would mum think if she saw me now? Doing this? Said one part of her brain.

Her eyes narrowed as her shoulders moved forward.

But I don’t have a choice! I don’t wanna get hurt.

Come on Lasta you’re smarter than this! You can find a way to get out of this!

But she’s stronger than me! She has magic and I don’t! She has power and I don’t! So I can’t!

“Ten!”

They took their places and he fired at the five on the right before they even had the time to think or react. He then ran in and as they fired in vain he fired shot after shot. The terror entered their eyes as they could do nothing to save their own lives. Then he discarded the first two and took out two more. He then let out a slight chuckle as he walked over to the doors ahead.

“Nine!”

The doors opened and he shot the four on the left and the four on the right, laughing like he had heard a hilarious joke the entire time then the final one in the middle skimmed his shoulder producing a small and shallow cut. This made him stop and shot him.

“Why did you not stop him?”

“I did not see him.”

He rolled his eyes as he approved the next doors.

“How many?”

She saw a group of green dots at both sides.

“I dunno. What are the green dots?”

“People who work here that are not guards.”

“Oh, then five.”

He smirked.

“Remember to be more vigilant this time.”

“Fear not, I will.”

Then the door opened to a room with a table on with a wall that was a telly vision, showing all. There were four people around the table and one looked at the screens. Before he could turn his head,  Otb fired at him and as the others looked at him he fired another shot at two of them. Then as one looked at him he fired. Then the other looked at him shocked as Otb hit the aliens hand and he backed away. He walked up to him slowly and fired another shot at the other hand. He let out a cry as he hit him again and again.

“P-p-please stop!” He begged as he fell back. Otb walled closer as the green blood flowed from his body.

“No.” He said, firing another shot at his shoulder and then the other one. He let out a scream as he fired one at his stomach.

“Then kill me! Please just kill me! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!”

He then fired again.

“No.”

He fired again and again until the guy was sobbing.

“Please just stop! Otb please!” Lasta cried.

He smirked.

“Alright then!”

The next one hit him in the forehead, ending his life. Lasta gritted her teeth as she felt the tears flow. He then walked up to her. He placed a hand on her head as he gave her the gun. He then put his hand on her head and forced her to look at the alien.

“Good girl. Hold this, oh, and I would like you to know that if you use that on me, then I will do to you worse than what I did to him.”

She nodded as she shook. Her eyes slid to Salynara wishing that someone would save her from this nightmare. Yet she knew better than to ask it from her.

“Good girl.” He sang. “By the way, is this your plan?”

“Yes. I would very much like for them to be free. Now, Otb I will need you to pilot a ship.”

He smirked as he nodded.

“So, how is it that a primitive creature like yourself knows of such things?” He asked as he typed.

She smirked.

“I am not as primitive as you might think. Also, I do have the ability for foresight.”

Lasta looked at her shocked as she realised that any attempt of escape would be seen and dealt with.

“Really. Tell me, when do we cut off the dead weight?”

Lasta’s eyes widened as she felt her heart race. She knew what he was trying to do and she could not stop herself from doing it. She felt all the fear and dread flood her mind and she was powerless to stop it. She also knew that this would mean when she knew that she had served her purpose she would be killed. She knew that this would mean that she would know the date that she was to die and she knew that there was not a thing that she could do about it. Worst still was the feeling of claustrophobia setting in making her breathe faster and deeper as her lungs grasped for air. When Salynara placed her hand on her, she flinched and started shaking.

“When the appointed time comes.” She said, stroking the girl’s shoulder to calm her down.

“And when is that?”

“She will know and you will too. Now we need to get back to work.”

His eyes narrowed as he returned to the table. She bit her lip as she could feel herself calming. She looked down to see more red dots on the map all over the place. She looked at the  gun and, for a moment, thought about using it, but then her mind went over what Otb did to that alien and did not want that to happen to her. She heard cheering, followed by the laser fire, followed by screams and sirens.

“Warning! The prisoners are free! I repeat, the prisoners are free.” Declared a computer voice designed to be female.

“Do we go now?” Lasta asked.

“Yes.”

“Otb!” She called as she tossed him his laser.

He caught to as Salynara held Lasta’s hand. Then the doors opened and a prisoner then ran to the females and Otb fired at him. She picked the girl up as they ran as fast as they could Otb in the front,  firing at anyone that came near the group. They soon felt the shop shake and Salynara smirked as they ran on.

“Warning! The self-destruct protocol has been initiated!”

“What?!” They all shouted.

‘Ten.”

Otb doomed his eyes as they ran further on and faster. He fired at anyone in their way. Then one went to grab Lasta but Salynara stabbed him before he could even touch her.

“Nine.”

As they ran on she sliced anyone that came anywhere near the group. They were grabbed by a group and Salynara used her magic to will them all to die right there and then.

“Eight.”

The next moment they collapsed and she picked up the girl and caught up with Otb who had also left a trail of bodies. Lasta looked at the device.

‘Seven.”

“We’re going the wrong way!”

“Six.”

“I know! We’ll be taking a short cut!”

He opened a set of doors as they arrived at a room with a large circle in the centre. Lasta realised his plan.

“Five.”

“"hip park, ship 13-44-5!” He shouted.

“Four.”

Then with a flash of light they were in the ship. That was when he killed the three on the right and the four on the left before they could respond.

“Three.”

He then ran to the pilot as other ships fled the ship park. He then fired and pulled him out and they set off. Then Lasta sat down and strapped herself in.

“Two.”

“Come on! Strap yourself in or you’re going to die or get hurt!”

She nodded as she followed suit just as they left.

“One. Zero!”

Then the prison ship exploded.

The Death Of One

Lasta looked down, shocked at what happened. Even though she was with Otb and Salynara, she felt alone. She was isolated and scared. She looked at the dead bodies and how she helped cause them. She thought about the destruction of the Seelie Court and the prison ship. Yet it was all her fault and she had no other choice. She did not want her to hurt nor did she want to die. She was scared about what was about to happen next and when they would decide to kill her. She knew that it would come sooner rather than later, after all once she had become eighteen, age would be immortal. She felt the tears build as she knew that she would die alone and far from home.

“T-tell me, when it is time, could-please take me home?” She asked, trying to be as polite as she could, hoping that that would appease Salynara.

“Whatever makes you think that there will be anything left to take home?”

She looked at her shocked as chills ran down her spine. She looked down as she felt even more afraid. She screamed in her mind as she tried not to cry. She could see all that happened to the alien guards and the deaths of the Fairy King and Queen flooded her mind. She knew that whatever Salynara had planned was worse than that. In fact she knew that whatever was going to happen was going to be completely horrible and would leave nothing behind. She could feel her throat tighten as she pulled her feet up and hugged her legs for comfort. She knew that they were her only comfort. She bit her lip to stop herself from crying.

“B-but will you tell them?”

‘No.” She said as she put her arm around her.

She then leaned in and whispered.

“It is alright to cry.”

She felt like there was a dagger in her throbbing heart.

“W-w-what’s the point? It-it’ll only h-hurt me more.”  She said as she felt the years involuntarily fall.

Otb put the ship on auto pilot and sat next to her. He put an arm around her. She wanted to move away but he learned in close.

“You think that you’re the only one alone do you?”

“Y-you kn-know I do!”

He then punched her in the gut and she let out a scream as she clutched her stomach. She bent over weeping as he smirked.

“Good. Now where are we going?”

“Your home planet. There is something there that I would like the girl to very much see.”

I’m not gonna like this.

“W-w-what i-i-s i’?”

“You will see!” She sang.

They soon landed on the planet. Otb took out his laser and as soon as the doors opened he fired at seven guards and took their weapons. He then ran ahead and shot camera after camera. Salynara took Lasta’s hand and ran after him. Salynara put up a protective shield. Lasta looked down as she did not want to see the destruction around her. She heard the shots fired and the screams of people who knew their time had come. Yet as much as she shielded her eyes she could not shield her nose from the foul stench of death. Followed by the layer of grease that came from burnt meat. This lasted for a while and Lasta could not help but feel slight fatigue. After what felt like hours, they came to a large grid of an air vent. Otb then pulled it off and pulled himself into it. Salynara picked the girl up and forced her after him.

“Where are we going?”

“The High Command Of Tricenta.”

“Is this about revenge?”

“Yes but for more than you think.”

“Mind telling me why?”

“No, I will make sure you hear it from the cat’s mouth, as you would say on your home planet. Speaking of which, do you have cats in Fairyland?”

“Yes, we have cats and dogs too.” Salynara said as she took a glance at Lasta.

They continued down the air vent. Lasta wondered if she should try to make him elaborate but one that the answers would reveal themselves when the time came, so she kept quiet. She knew that this would be her life from now on, at least for the foreseeable future. They turned a corner. By the g-force she could tell that they were climbing. Then she saw a sharp turn upwards. He turned around and pulled himself upward. She did the same and had to spread her legs in order to stop herself from falling. She was soon climbing after him. She felt the strain on her muscles. She grouted her tenth and forced herself on. She knew that one moment of weakness would earn her some ridicule. She also suspected that she would be forced on by magic if need be. Yet as they continued she soon felt the station get to her.

“What?”

“She must be getting tired.”

He let out a chuckle.

“Well she is still just a child. Don't worry, we’re almost there.”

“Thank you and don’t worry I can handle this.”

“Good girl!”

“Thank you!”

She continued on and spotted a bend forward. He twisted and bent over and pulled himself through. She followed and she was glad that they were finally on horizontal ground. They continued on but not that long. Otb found a grid and pulled it up and fell down. She followed and then Salynara came behind her. They put their hands on her shoulder. She looked up and saw that they were in a rpm with red walls and a black floor and ceiling. She spotted a come on a grey desk with a name written on it.

Project O.T.B

Order Terminate Blood

What is this? She thought as she looked at it. Then she looked at Otb with a deep frown. Sure she knew that there was something odd about his name but she thought that it was due to him being an alien.

“Otb…Should I ask?”

“You will have your answer. Ahh Governess Gralenna!”

“So the hybrid has returned?”

He smirked as he walked up to her.

“Yes! Indeed I have and in jail I heard certain whispering. Whispering about me. Apparently my life was a lie.” He said, backing her against the wall. “Is that true?”

She took a glance at Lasta, who was firmly in Salynara’s grip.

“So what if it is?”

She looked at Otb, shocked.

“Otb!”

“I guess she’s seen the file?”

“Why are you looking at me like that?”

She smirked as she took out a lighter and lit  a flame underneath it.

“Do you honestly believe that I’ll give you what my child? No, that child is far too important.”

Lasta frowned.

“What do you mean by that?” Otb and Lasta both asked.

She giggled.

“I’m sorry but this child may be only three years older than you, judging by your looks, but he will deceive you. So please, whatever you do, don’t believe a word he says. We both know him to be a liar.”

He let out a bitter laugh.

“You will never give me what I want, will you?”

“What do you think?”

“And what about my life? Is that a lie, like everyone says? Is it?”

“Why do I have to say?”

“You know what? I don’t need you. I’m pretty certain there are other copies of the file.”

“Then I’ll tell the others to burn their files!”

He let out a laugh.

“No, you won’t.” He said as he shot at her hand.

She dropped the things in her hand and he shot at her again. She screamed out as she was shot again and again and again. She let out scream after scream. Soon she was weeping. He then fired another shot at her head.

Lasta could only look in shock as she noticed just how much the woman looked like Otb. Then her eyes dropped to the only words that she could see.

WEAPON OTB

Before they were devoured by the fire.

Rival’s Origin

They soon arrived at the next planet. He looked at Lasta as she woke from her sleep. He gave her a stern look. By the look on his face she could tell that he was about to hit her. He walked up to her and she flinched as he placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. She looked at him with fear in her eyes.

“I think that it’s about time you were shown something. After all, I am pretty certain that a copy of that file must be here.” He said.

He carried a strange look on his face. He, for the first time,  seemed vulnerable. However she knew that it was a dangerous vulnerability. The type one had when they were about to snap. She knew that she did not want to be anywhere near him when he did. Yet she bit her lip knowing that she would not have a choice in the matter. Even worse, she knew that he would probably take it out on her and there would be nothing anyone would do to stop it.

The door opened and they walked out. Though she was terrified she had to go on,  her bracelet made her. She had no choice but to follow. She wanted to be anywhere else than here. She wanted to be home with her parents and brother. She wanted to lie by the fire and go to sleep. She wanted all of this to be some kind of nightmare and wake up in her own bed and high her parents and brother. She found herself torturing herself with her longing for home.

They soon came to the back door of some base where there were two guards posted. Otb looked at Salynara. She smiled and nodded. She looked at the guards and raised her hand and they fell. Lasta looked at them already knowing that they were dead. She knew that she did not have to check. She looked away not even wanting to look at them. Then the doors opened.

“Could you not have done that in the first place?”

“I could, but I do think that the exercise is good for the girl.”

“Yeah, and so’s a home. And since when did you care what was good for me?”

“Well, I would hardly want someone like you to hold us back now do we?”

“No! We don’t!”

She rolled her eyes. She should have not opened her mouth.

“Whatever. Can we get this over with?”

She knew that she would have to keep her mouth shut or she would be subject to more humiliation.

“Otb, you did want to show me something, didn’t you?” She pointed out.

He smirked and nodded.

“I did and there’s not a moment to lose.” He said as he pulled her close. “But don’t think that gets you off the hook.”

She gulped at it was all too clear that he knew exactly what she was doing. This also meant that regardless of what she did, he was going to give her the humiliation regardless. She flinched as he put an arm around her. He smirked, noticing this. He then walked her down the corridor and down a flight of stairs.

“Wouldn’t it be easier to take the lift?”

“It would, but note, never take the lift.”

“Why?”

“Because, it’s the easiest way to kill someone.”

“Good to know! Thank you.”

He smirked. She took a glance at Salynara who was looking at the two with a creepy smirk. Almost as if certain things like this were going according to  her plan. Maybe that's the point of this? She wanted her to know the truth to make them act like this. Yet for some reason that did not make sense. No she wanted to hurt her as much as she could and she just could not see how this would do that. It was more like she wanted him to hurt her so much that the end would be her only hope.

They soon walked into a red room with a black carpet and ceiling that was filled with finding cabinets. There was a man that was about to get out a file. Otb ran to him and covered his mouth before slitting his throat. Lasta looked away as she did not want to look at another dead body. Otb picked up the file and read it. He closed his eyes as it confirmed something. He then handed it to her.

“Read!”

Knowing that she should do as she was told she started to read the first page.

Project OTB

Order Terminate Blood

The hybrid is growing well. There seems that

there is nothing wrong with him, nor does he

show any signs of negative consequences of his

birth.

We have decided to trek the hybrid a story about

his birth so that he does not ask about

or question  it. We have also come to the

conclusion that he should grow up on his

own with the Tricenta. This way, our weapon

will be already there. However he should be

terminated if he should betray the Kelito or

fail or rebel.

She looked up with a frown.

“Did they try to-”

“Once or twice. Now read on.”

She nodded as she turned the page. She let out a sigh as she felt cold and shivered slightly.

Otb, a half Tricenta and a half Kelito hybrid

that seems to be a gift of the Kelito to us. We

needed something like him, after all, we have

been in need of a monster from the Kelito. The

war was getting too close to peace and we

fear that it would come to an end. However after the one

known as Lasta Coop exposed the plot the Kelito was

trying to carry out with Otb, it was exactly what we needed.

Now the flames of war will never be put out.

All we need to do now it use Otb correctly and

we will be able to obtain the power we need

to become the only force on this planet.

If he gets too out of hand, we can get that Lasta Coop to kill

and replace him.

At this Lasta’s face dropped as she dropped the file. She looked up at Otb, feeling ill and rage. She felt child ruin form her spine. She just could not believe what she had just read. She felt ice cold and used. She looked up at him as she bit her lip. The Tricenta wanted her to kill him? Even worse, they wanted her to be his replacement in the war. Yet all of this was all for the sake of not only taking over the Tricenta but also being the only force on their planet!

“I…Are…Any more?”

He smirked.

“Glad you asked.” He said as he pulled out a knife. "See, I heard another rumour!”

Lasta stepped back afraid that he was going to stab her. Then he put it to the back of his neck beneath the skull and slit. She was about to stop him from hurting himself further but then he pulled out a small black ball and after cleaning it, gave it to her. It tingled the palm of her hand. She suppressed her disgust at the blood on it. She frowned as she looked at it closely.

Then she heard Otb let out a sigh of relief. Then she heard a quiet beeping coming from it.

“You’ll never guess what this is and what it is for!”

Her eyes widened as she realised that this device was probably used to manipulate him in some way, or track him down.

“Yes.”

She stopped it as she did not want it to remain longer on her hand. She wiped the blood off her hands with the clothes of the dead man.

He had that thing in him the entire time! Why? Just why? How messed up are these people!?

He chuckled as he picked it up and put it in his pocket.

“They put it in me when I was born. The beeping was to ensure my madness.”

She nodded seeing that there were no signs of lying in his eyes. She then looked at the other files and looked at them. She then looked at the water in the room and the napkin and used them to clean the wound and Salynara healed it. She then looked all around and placed all of the unimportant files on top of the dead alien. She then found more files and gave it to him. She then found all the files relating to both her and Otb and gave them to him.

“Miss Salynara, please may you light them on fire?” She asked as politely as she could.

She smiled and nodded. She set a flame alight.

“What are you doing?”

“Have you put those files away?”

“Yes.”

“Then let’s get out of here. Do you have a way to release them to the public?”

“Why?”

“I’ll tell you later. Once we’re safe.”

Soon they were running out of the base and rushed into the spaceship and left before the building exploded!

The Evidence Of

The Conspiracy

“You seem quiet!”

“I’m thinking.”

“About what you have read?”

“Yeah…I wonder how deep this rabbit hole goes.”

“I hardly know.”

“Wouldn’t it be too much to find out?”

“No, it would’t, but what motive would I have to waste my time to find out?”

Lasta thought. She knew she would have to give an answer that would satisfy them both. One that would get the pair of them on board.

“Tell me, what would the Tricenta do if they found out what their government was up to?”

A smile flickered on the fairies lips as her eyes slid to her.

“Good girl! So, what do you have in mind?”

She let out a sigh of relief, knowing that she had them hooked.

“Well, we need all the evidence that we can get and expose it to the people.”

“Is that it?” Salynara asked, disappointed.

Suddenly Lasta was filled with the desire to impress her.

“No, you’re right. We need the people to take these tyrants down. Maybe get the Tricenta and the Kelito to work together if we have to.”

“Good luck!” Otb chuckled.

“Oh? You think that is too much of a challenge?” She asked, knowing that she would be paying for that line later.

“You think that I can’t?”

“Dunno. I think that I’ll have to see it to believe it!’

“You know we can see that you're playing us?”

Lasta shrugged.

“How else would I get what I want?”

“Well let’s do this.”

“Well done! It looks like we’re all in agreement?”

They then looked at Otb.

“What? Oh, oh, ohh! I get it, you need me to get you the evidence!”

“That, and you know this planet way more than we do.”

“Oh.”

“The girl is right.”

He nodded.

What am I doing?

“Then I know the perfect place to start.”

They soon arrived at wherever Otb was leading them and were hiding among the crimson leaves of the trees. They were looking at a government building and she felt a pang of nostalgia. The last time she was here, she was uncovering the conspiracy that Otb had cooked up with the Kelito. Now she was here to gather evidence of another conspiracy. It would have been a good moment to appreciate the irony of it all.

“Now we need to get as many files as you girls can carry. Meanwhile, I will get as much data as I can.”

“‘Girls’?”

“You look young.”

Salynara smiled.

“Thank you! You are such a dear.”

“How are we going to get in?”

He turned to Salynara.

“Tell me, can you get us in there and out without any devices or traces?”

“Yes, I do, however, I can use it as much as I have magic energy.”

Lasta made a note of this.

“In that case we need to eat.” He said as he took out the blue cubes.

“What's this?”

“A plastic cube?”

“No, it’s food. Take a bite.”

She did. To her shock she liked the take. It takes like chocolate and jelly babies combined! Suddenly she felt awake and her energy was boosted more than she had ever experienced in her life! She took another now wanting more and she felt more alert than she knew that she had ever been. She took another and her mind became clearer than it had ever been. With another she found that her mind was working at a pace that she had never thought that it could work!

“What food was that?!” She gasped after finishing it.

‘Peak cubes. They are designed to fill the stomach and make the body operate at its maximum potential.”

“They can? Who designed it?”

“A creep that said that he was neither from our planet, like you, or from this world, unlike you. Now Salynara, are you finished?”

“Yes. Now let us get this over with. I would very much like to go home.”

“So would I.”

Salynara ignored this as she took hold of their hands. She closed her eyes and with a flash, they were in. She let out a slight groan as she fell down and breathed in and out, catching her breath.

“Right now we need to get on with it. We will not have much time to spare.”

Lasta nodded. She rushed to the filing cabinets and looked at all the filled and then opened then. The moment that she saw something about her or Otb she then put it in a pile.

“Miss Salynara, do you have a bag?”

“Yes.”

“Please may I use it?”

“Since you asked so nicely here.”

“Thank you.”

She then stuffed the files into the bag. She then dashed to and fro from the files to the bag. Meanwhile Otb was typing away as day as he could. She took a glance at the computer and realised that it had been a long time since she actually saw one. Yet she turned back to her work and went from draw to draw. She focused all her mind onto what she was doing and went as fast as she could, taking full advantage of what the peak cube had fine to her. Yet she could not help but feel nostalgic, thinking about school and home.

Once they had as much as they could take, they waited for Otb to finish what he was doing, keeping an ear out for any sound that could be seen as people coming to the room. Then he finished shortly after and pulled out a memory stick and then puked or a sting and put it around Lasta’s neck and the bag went on her back.

“Now,  get us out of here.”

“I will do. However I shall need a good sleep after this.” She days as she extended her hand. “But first,  we need to cover our tracks.”

Soon a fire rose and she grabbed their hands and with a flash they were back on board the ship. Then they heard an explosion and saw the smoke on the horizon. Salynara collapsed beside her. Together they carried her to a chair and strapped her in before they took off. Lasta comforted her hoping that it would help stop her from being killed by her later. She then pulled a blanket over the fairy and then put her shoulder around her to use her arm as a pillow. She too took this time to take a nap of her own. She was woken up an hour and a half later from a nightmare. She did all that she could to calm herself and to ensure that Otb did not see but by the smirk on his face that he did.

“Did we have a nightmare?”

She rolled her eyes.

“Do you want me to go over there and give you a hug? After all, you can’t go to mummy and daddy can you?”

She closed her eyes trying not to cry and keep quiet so that her voice would not betray her.

“Aww! Kerplunk quiet are we? What are you afraid of? You can tell me!”

As if I’m that stupid!

“I-I’ll be looking at the files.”

She took a file out and started to rear it.

Grand Elder Goron Nebor

Governess Gralenna Glinglass

   (Mother of Otb)

The moment that she read this she felt chills run down her spine as she looked up. Thinking about the women that Otb killed and remembered that they did look alike. She felt sick too, that his own mother tried to use get to kill him.

“Otb. What did you say your mother’s name was?”

“I didn’t. I wasn't even told who she was let alone her name.”

“Then you ought to read this.”

She gave him the file that she had just read. He suddenly looked pale and more vulnerable than she had ever seen him. Then again she could hardly blame him. Yet even though she knew that she had the perfect moment to give him a taste of his own medicine, she knew that he would hurt her for doing it. So she dropped the thought.

“It’s sick and I’m sorry.”

She then turned back to reading more of the files, yet she suddenly knew that she would have to get stronger. So she put the file down and started to do some squats. She had to get stronger and she did not want to be completely powerless in this situation. After all, if she was able to get stronger, she would at least have some power, not a lot but still some nevertheless.

Yet her mind thought about what she had just read. She just could not get it out of her head. The Governess Gralenna, the one that Otb killed was his mother. A mother that, in her final moments, tried to ensure that Lasta would remain Otb's enemy! This was what had gotten to her the most. That was when another thing came to her. They had had the perfect and undeniable evidence right under their nodes the entire time!

She then stood straight.

“Otb, Governess Gralenna is your mother!”

“Yes I just read. What of it?” He asked, annoyed. “Hold on, if this is pouring salt onto the open wound, forget it!”

“No! Don’t you get it? As she is your mother, her blood runs through yours! Her DNA is in you! That makes your very blood evidence connecting her to you!”

He looked at her shocked as he realised what she was getting at. He then let out a chuckle as he realised what this meant.

“You’re right!”

She let a slight smile appear on her face. Yet she quickly wiped it off her face knowing that it was not a good idea keeping it on. Yet she knew that he had seen it. He gave her a strange look, one that she could not quite tell if it was mocking or sympathetic. Yet she knew better than to ask about it.

“Now all we need is someone to reveal this.”

“Why?”

“Simple, we need both the Tricenta and Kelito to believe the truth. So what we need to do is get a scientist that has no affiliation with either of us and great status that is not on that list.”

“Why?”

“So that the people can take these tyrants down.”

He raised his eyebrow.

“Also we need to do this at a safe distance. No need to get us hurt by this.”

Doctor Terys was a great scientist. He had made great feats in science in the Tricenta scientific field. He had just finished making a great weapon that, he knew, would end the war for good. He had always dreamed of peace and stability. Now that it was at his fingertips he could hardly believe it! He even started to hum which he had not done since his last weapon was destroyed by the Kelito the years ago.

The moment he left the lab he stopped. He felt pain then he fell and was soon in dreamland. When he opened his eyes he was looking in the eyes of Otb. His heart races in fear.

“W-what are you planning on doing to me?”

“Nothing, but tell you that the war that you have been fighting is nothing but a proxy war dedicated to ensuring that the Tricenta government becomes the only force on our planet!”

“Prove it!”

“Gladly!” He said, rolling up his arm.

Planet Fall

Once the truth had been revealed it was barely a day when everything devolved into riots into all the government and communal buildings. The Tricenta and the Kelito were both there. Doctor Terys looked on in shock. He could not believe what he was seeing. He thought that if he exposed the truth then there would be peace but even though the Tricenta and the Kelito were working together yet they were working to take down the government. Something that he did not know were even his enemies!

Some could not get why until they received an email that showed them what the Doctor Terys had uncovered,  then they too were joining in the riots. Yet more and more people joined in. Yet some had acquired grenades and threw them at the building. Blowing holes into the walls and starting fires they struck down the barbed wire.

Lasta could only look on in horror as more and more of the building was set alight and the people who worked in them ran out. Then more grenades hit them and they were read before they even got out of the fence. Then she saw even more grenades at the building until one side collapsed and even still the building continued to collapse.

She shook as she tried to cover her ears to shield them from the loud shouts of the crowd. She could no longer bear the sound. That was when Otb gripped their wrists and pulled them down. She heard screams as she heard another explosion and gunfire leading to more screams from the crowd. She then looked behind her to see people turning into liquid. Then someone threw something at the liquid and it set alight. Soon there were more and more fires in the crowd. Then the flames rose above the crowd's heads.

Upon seeing this Lasta screamed. She soon saw another route run to a government vehicle and fired at all inside. They broke in and stole the supplies as the bodies were being dragged out. They were thrown into the flames. She just could not process what she was seeing. She had to close her eyes to ease her fear but something had locked her eyelids in place. She suspected that it was Salynara's magic forcing her to see the destruction and the loss of life.

She soon saw more vehicles come and the massless riot charged at them and killed and pulled out everyone in them. Soon they had more weapons and they were using them. Then more fires rose and more people on both sides were killed.

All of this was her fault. This was her plan, so this was her doing. She was responsible for all those deaths. She knew that this was coming and yet despite this she did it anyway. She had not made it worse but she had become exactly what the Tricenta government wanted her to become. A monster, a scapegoat and a catalyst of war!

She did not want to set our great any more, she just wanted to get out of here. She just wanted to forget all about this and go home. She just wanted to see her mum and dad and tell them everything and cry in their arms.

Yet can I even face her? Do I even have the right? How do I even face her or my brother after all of this? How?

Suddenly she did not want to go home or see them. She felt too ashamed. No. She hoped she would never see them again or the monster that she had become. She wanted their last memory of her to be that innocent Lasta. The hero and the good. Not what she had become now.

“I think that we can leave now.”

She gladly followed. They were back on the ship and off the planet.

Seed Of Hope

Lasta sat at the back. She thought about all that had gone by. She thought about her mother with shame. She knew that she would never see her again nor her father and brother for that matter. She did not even deserve to see then again. She could still see all those people still turning into that strange flammable liquid. She tried to get it out of her head but she could not. She felt tired and wanted to rest but her mind would not let her.

She looked out of the window into the void of space. She saw all the beautiful stars and planets. A few weeks ago she would have wanted to explore every single one of them and see what they all looked like and learn about all their different cultures and people. Yet not anymore. No, she just wanted to disappear and let the other two vanish into the void of space.

“Are you alright?”

She kept quiet. She did not want to have to speak. She just wanted to be left alone. He smiled at this and chuckled.

“I see…But I’m not going to give you what you want. Good work by the way.” He said.

He looked at her as his eyes narrowed. He then hit her in the gut.

“I said ‘good work’!”

She landed on the floor and clichéd her gut. She coughed slightly. She could already feel herself choking as the tears threatened to fall.

“What do you want?”

“I said ‘good work’!”

“Didn’t look like it to me. I just can’t get it out of my head! T-they k-killed ‘em! T-they actually k-killed ’em!”

He then rolled his eyes and then pulled her up by the hair. She raised her arms to stop the pain. He then hit her again

“Tell me, what did you expect? Did you think that they wouldn’t?”

She looked up at him in anger.

“Do you even care? Can you care?”

He let her go.

“No. I unlike you don’t have nor have I ever had anything to care about.” He said as he crouched in front of her. He pulled her head up by the chin.

“Leave me alone! You had your fun!”

He looked at her dead in the eyes.

“Tell me, who do you care for the most?”

She kept her mouth shut and looked aside, not wanting to give him anything.

“I know you have a family. I don’t. I have never known that. Yet the only family I know about tried to kill me or get me killed. Now tell me, can you blame me for what I became?”

“No.” She admitted, subdued.

“Now tell me, do you honestly think that freedom wouldn’t cost lives?”

“No, I guess you're right.”

“Good. Do you understand now?”

“Yeah. I guess I do.”

“Did you do good?”

She took a moment to think of an answer.

“I did what I thought was right.”

“Yes, yes you did. Although it did cost lives, do you think that you did good?”

“I don’t know.”

“You’re right. Only time will tell. Tell me, do you think that you could care for me and I could learn to care?”

She looked down. She would have said no, but she knew that would have hurt him and he would just her if she did.

“Maybe, only time will tell.”

He chuckled, placing a hand on her shoulder.

“Good answer!”

“Thank you.”
